Re·mem·brance 'Sun·day¿ Kultur?Der Remembrance Sunday, Remembrance Day oder auch Poppy Day ist der zweite Sonntag im November (zur Erinnerung an den Armistice Day am 11. November 1918) an dem in Großbritannien aller Soldaten, die in den beiden Weltkriegen gefallen sind, in Gottesdiensten und Zeremonien gedacht wird. Die Leute tragen überall rote Mohnblumen aus Stoff, welche die auf den Schlachtfeldern von Flandern nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg blühenden Mohnblumen symbolisieren sollen. Um elf Uhr wird immer ein zweiminütiges Schweigen eingehalten. -
